About the Filmmakers

Lauren DeAngelis
Producer/Director and Editor
Lauren is an award-winning non-fiction filmmaker and 2008 graduate of American University's Master of Arts program in Film and Video. She is most passionate about our impact on nature and wildlife. A parrot and animal lover, Lauren gained the inspiration for A Place to Land from her 18-year-old cockatiel, Precious. When she's not producing films about parrots or other animals, Lauren works as a full-time writer/editor and spends time with her French Bulldog, Gidget. She also volunteers her time to animal rescue groups, either working at adoption events or producing short videos to spread awareness.
